About Chick Corea

Chick Corea was an American jazz pianist, keyboardist, composer, and bandleader. He was one of the most influential jazz musicians of his generation, and his work spanned a wide range of styles, from bebop to fusion to classical music. Corea was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, in 1941. He began playing piano at the age of four and studied classical music at the Juilliard School. In the early 1960s, Corea began playing jazz and quickly became one of the most sought-after pianists in the world. He played with a wide range of musicians, including Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and John McLaughlin. In the 1970s, Corea formed his own band, Return to Forever, which became one of the most successful jazz fusion groups of all time. Corea continued to perform and record throughout his career, and he received numerous awards, including 23 Grammy Awards. He died in 2021 at the age of 79.
